Astobiza Vermouth is a handcrafted vermouth made from 100% Hondarrabi Zuri Txakoli. Combining tradition, innovation and a carefully selected blend of botanicals, it delivers a fresh, elegant and distinctly Atlantic character. Awarded World's Best Semi-Sweet Vermouth at the World Vermouth Awards 2021, it is one of the finest premium vermouths from the Basque Country.
Astobiza Vermouth is produced in the Ayala Valley (Álava, Spain), where Astobiza Winery has created a truly distinctive vermouth using Txakoli made exclusively from the native Hondarrabi Zuri grape variety. This unique wine base gives the vermouth its remarkable freshness and authentic personality, reflecting the character of the Atlantic vineyards of the Basque Country.
Its production combines Txakoli with a carefully selected blend of botanicals, each macerated separately to achieve the perfect balance between freshness, sweetness and delicate bitterness. The sweetness comes naturally from grape must rather than refined sugar, while part of the distillate used in the production of Astobiza Gin adds further aromatic depth and complexity. The result is a refined, well-balanced vermouth with elegant citrus, floral and herbal notes, finishing long, fresh and remarkably smooth.
One of its most distinctive features is its original presentation. Each bottle includes a small bottle of red vermouth, allowing you to personalise the colour, intensity and aromatic profile according to your own taste.
Internationally acclaimed, Astobiza Vermouth was awarded World's Best Semi-Sweet Vermouth at the World Vermouth Awards 2021, confirming its place among the most innovative and exclusive handcrafted vermouths from the Basque Country.
