Eguren Ugarte Reserva Wine, mainly Tempranillo and smail percentage of Graciano.
This is the new vintage of Eguren Ugarte Reserva, produced by the Eguren Ugarte winery.
Produced in La Rioja, this Spanish red wine is made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano. The vineyards are 30 to 50 years of age.
Once in the cellar, the grapes of this reserve red wine from Rioja were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation was carried out 80% in tanks and 20% in barrels.
Then the wine was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Finally, it was further aged for 24 months in the cellar before its release, a key factor in order to further round and smooth the wine.
Decant 30 minutes before drinking.
Appearance: The red wine Eguren Ugarte Reserva has a nice cherry colour with a crimson rim.
Nose: This is an intense and complex Rioja red wine, with some very pure notions of blackberries and cranberries, typical of a blend of Tempranillo and Graciano, alongside some spicy and balsamic hints over a mineral and toasted background.
Palate: Meaty and juicy, this reserve red wine by the Eguren Ugarte winery has a good balance and an excellent acidity. Smooth tannins, a very fresh core and a long finish with some mineral and spicy remembrances. Overall, wood is not at all prominent, not a minor achievement in Rioja.
